Even though most Sith decide that they would rather use good emotions to bring success there are times when you have a build up of bad emotions. My advice is to use the emotions to your advantage. Instead of lashing out in hate and focusing on how much you hate someone focus on how much satisfaction you are getting and how happy you are to be getting the unwanted emotions off your chest. I would only use this in an extreme situation like you’re being mugged or abused, etc. If you use this technique too much you may begin to rely on it too much and eventually all those bad emotions will come back to haunt you, but if you only use it on very rare occasions when the emotions do come back they will be minor and easy to get over.

Are there any bad emotions? Any emotions can be defined as good, any emotion can be defined as bad, it depends on the individual, and their relationship with his/her own emotions. Personally, I don't think there's any use in calling an emotion{hate, for example} bad, because it isn't bad, it is emotion. Same goes for joy, or sorrow, or happiness. They can have "bad" effects on your life, but if an emotion causes manifests negatively, it is hardly the emotions fault. No, I would argue that all emotions are positive, if I were to have to attribute such to them.
My two cents.

As I wrote this lecture long ago, I have changed my beliefs of the Sith. What I know now is that positive and negative emotions are in fact both good and bad depending on how you use them. How I put it nowadays is positive emotions are the constructive ones and negative emotions are the destructive ones. Most people think that destructive emotions are bad, but I believe that they can be used for good purposes. Anger tells us when it is time to stand up for yourself and fight, and regret tells us when we have done something wrong. They all have their purposes.
