This movie is about a Tibetan monk who, after meditating for years, gives in to worldly pleasure, marries, has children, and even commits infidelity. IMDB: www.imdb.com/title/tt0196069/plotsummaryI think it's wonderfully shot, the landscapes are beautiful, and of course it has a moral. To all Jedi it's a warning that never underestimate the power of passion. To the Sith, it reinforces the belief in the power of passion (even though the character blunders now and then; the control of emotions is crucial in order to live a satisfactory life)

Thanks for the summery link. I did not see that movie. The summery implies that after a trail around "Robbins barn" the monk returns to become a monk. Does that happen in the film or does he die a wealthy farmer?

Darth Agur That would make the message basically a Tantric one. Tantra is based on the principle that the best way to obtain enlightenment is to do everything in this world that you are able to do with out causing harm on other people. After you have tried it all you will be bored and ready to leave this plan no longer re-incarnating. That is how you get to "Nervana" "heaven" I put quotes around those words since they are words that describe the final destination of enlightenment.

Yes, I think the Sith path is very similar to the Tantric approach, especially the "left-hand" tantra.

Darth Agur I never heard of "Left Handed" Tantra. All the books that I read on the subject just call it Tantra. The Indians from India did not view Tantra the way the west does so Left handed is probably a western designation. But yes Tantra would be Sith as apposed to Jedi.
