First of all, it's not about physically becoming an animal. It is about summoning animal spirits and assuming their traits. It is rather simple and has been successful for me, here it is: 1.Find a comfortable place with a lot of room 2.Lie down, close your eyes and relax completely 3.Call forth a spirit of an animal you wish 4.Greet it and ask it for some of it's traits 5.Now stand up and try to use those traits. For example, I called a monkey and asked for it's agility, afterwards I ran around in a crouched stance(imagine the sight ;D ).I was moving with ease and when I stopped, I didn't fell any burn in my muscles at all. 6.Return to the meditative state, thank the spirit and return to acting as a human.
Traits will remain with you, although maybe not as powerful as before. The more time you spend as a certain animal, the more of it's traits you receive. But keep in mind that you may get some negative traits as well. For example, if you want to get the courage of a lion, in time you may receive arrogance as well.

Darth Frigus That was very good. You are basically correct as to shape-shifting. Usually meditating on Turkey Vulture will ground you after a Shape-Shifting meditation. I wish you put this thread with the Totems section because it is totems work. It goes well with all the other information on totems.
As to whether you will become arrogant, it depends what is in you. If you are a humble person by nature probably you can meditate on lion to help you with your courage issues and safely get what you ask for. Animals are very sensitive to you even if you are not. They will pick up on your stated ideas as well as your unspoken ideas. If you receive arrogance from a lion, it probably means that the lion has picked up on what you already have and just brought it out in the open. There are very few animals that you can trick. Usually it is the farm animals that are most easily tricked. Most others are not especially wild animals because their senses are heightened to a very fine degree because survival depends on it.
I have done very well with animals. I love all animals. Both I and the animals get along.

There, I have put it in the Totems section. I have a phobia from dogs, was attacked by one when I was a kid. Can't seem to allow myself to interact with them.It also makes me stay away from anything that can at least take my hand off. I have always been somewhat occult person, even before I knew anything about it...or maybe the video games did that...but anyway, I like cats, snakes and other "silent 'n' creepy" types. Isn't it cute?

Interesting post, Darth Frigus, the first one in this thread, that is... I could have done without that picture.

Darth Frigus Sorry you had a bad experience with dogs when you were young. Is the picture from Aliens? Or Space Balls? Did you do the photoshop job or get it from the net? Sorry if I angered you by suggesting about the totems section. I only thought it logical because what you said was good and was totems work. It was a compliment not a complaint. Good is Good.

Yes, it's from Alien(the first movie from '79.).I found the picture on the net. You didn't anger me, the only reason I didn't post it in the totems section first is that I didn't look into totems much and didn't know it was totem work.

I remember that old movie. Space Balls did a spoof of that scene where one guy says "Get him some water." and the other guy says "No! Get him some Peptobismol"! Here is the link to the comic version by Space Balls. This was a funny movie. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zehzSn8ExjEThan you did real well for not even knowing that it was totems work.
