Gebo is the Rune that symbolizes the magical Force or Magically charged Void. This is the Force in the great expanse before the “Big Bang”. Or the Shards of String as known by String theorists. The Force to the Norsemen was not a God of intervention but mysterious in all it’s aspects. It was an unknown energy field above the gods. The gods too were created by this magically charged void.
Gebo is the Rune of giving. It refers to the one who is giving the gift, the gift itself and the one receiving the gift. This Rune also represents the gift of power given to man by the gods (angels, archangels). Gebo is used to join runic orders together to enable their group directed magic to work. This is the Vitki equivalent of a coven. This is rare because Vitki’s usually are single solitary magicians. Gebo also symbolizes any united effort to get a result. This Rune is the Rune responsible for bringing together soul mates. The Gebo Rune has some functional similarities to the Ansuz Rune because they share ecstasy in common. Gebo deals with the mystery of ecstatic magical power. The Gebo Rune deals in sex magic. This is the use of sex to join two people (male to female) to create more power than each unit would be alone. In ancient times the male was considered to hold a positive charge and the female a negative charge like ends of magnets. Sex magic was used to gain knowledge and wisdom for the Norsemen.
The Gebo Rune is used for sexual initiation. Sigurdhr was initiated into runic wisdom by the Valkyrja called Brynhildr by sexual initiation. This is the reason certain practitioners are picky who they will get intimate with. When you have sex with someone you litterlt exchange energy, electrons, aura and of course bodily fluids. You have the man’s aura mixed with yours for thirty days after having done sex with him. You take on his strengths and his weaknesses. Many ancient practices involved sex magic. The ancients did not have the bad attitude that people have today about sex. Sin was not part of the equation according to the Norsemen. Here the Vitki has in common with the practitioners of Tantra. Fertility magic was important to the Norsemen. Remember they did not have over population back then. Many children died young so each human was far more valued than today. No such thing as surplus population. To have sex in a field meant the crops would grow better. The summer was short so fertility was important. There are some Shamanistic practices that share this as well.

7, Acquisition of knowledge and wisdom. The Gebo Rune is easy to draw, just make a red “X”. It looks like our letter “X” but it is pronounced as a “G” sound. Meditate breathing rhythmically and pronounce the Rune three times. Gebo, Gebo, Gebo. Then say it elongated Geeebooo. Repeat Gebo, Gebo, Gebo ( breathing rhythmically the whole time) Geeebooo. As with all Rune meditations start with five minutes and work up to twenty minutes.
Stance (optional)
Stand with legs spread, feet straight and knees locked. Arms are stretched out in an angle forming an “X”, with hands directly over feet.
