When I was in seventh grade, we would play a game in French class where the teacher would put up a bunch of vocab words on the board. One person from each of two teams would go up to the board, armed with a flyswatter, with their backs to the board. The teacher would say a vocab word in English, and on a signal, the players would turn around to try to be the first to swat the corresponding word in French.
Whenever it was my turn, before the teacher said the vocab word, I would close my eyes and take a deep breath, centering and focusing myself. My classmates got a little laugh out of it, but they couldn't deny the results- I won almost every time.
This is still a technique that I use to center myself- usually I touch my fingertips together, close my eyes, and take a deep, slow breath.
What are your centering techniques?

I read physics or some book by Carl Sagan. Most scientists are very logical being my opposite they tend to cause balance which is a form of centering. Science especially physics cools the hot fires of Mustafar which often times churns in me. The cool logic of the physicists is like a nice ice age to cool off all that lava.
