This method does not necessarily require knowledge of specific chakras, but after doing it one will notice very much that they are there. This is a method that could be considered quicker, easier, and more convenient than any other. It is very helpful if your mood is off or during a so-called bad day.
Get two fairly potent magnets. Stick or bar magnets are good. Sit in a comfortable spot and hold one in each hand, holding them such that the ends pull together. Note the nature of that pulling feeling. Slowly pull them apart. Concentrate on that feeling. Even close your eyes and focus in on that feeling. Pull them as far apart as possible where you still feel an ever so subtle pull. I have experimented with another person and noticed that this person started to feel the pull even when they were quite far apart. If you start with them close together where you have to use some strength in your hands to stop the pulling from making them click together, you will feel the pull lessen as you bring them further apart. Pull them further and further apart until you feel nothing, then slowly bring them together until you feel a very faint pull. The more sensitive a person you are, the further apart you can have them. Bring them together and pull them apart a few times. By doing so, you sharpen your range of feeling ability.
After doing this, notice how you feel energy around you. It is like you are switched on. You may notice your chakras. You will especially feel surrounding energies of both people and things. You will find that you feel that subtle pull from other things.
There is also the opposite. If you hold the magnets such that they repel and do the same technique as described above, the opposite will happen. You will shut off and feel nothing. It is good to try this experimentally because you need to know what a "push" sensation feels like.
If you go back and forth a few times, it is a fascinating experiment; but it will make you tired (that is a constant opening and closing). On a normal basis, it would be best to just do the pull. Only do the push if you absolutely need to shut off.
